On January 27, Russia celebrates the Day of the Complete Liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade. It was on this day that Soviet troops liberated the city on the Neva from the enemy siege, which lasted almost 900 days. The Siege of Leningrad is an example of amazing courage, resilience, and unity of the Soviet Army and the civilian population.
There are 2 residents of besieged Leningrad living in the Komsomolsky district: Marianna Borisovna Selivanova and Zhaneta Alexandrovna Kublickaya. Today, with tears in their eyes, they commemorate the 79th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade and receive congratulations and gifts from the Mayor of the city Nail Magdeev and the deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Marsel Mingalimov. Gifts were presented at their homes by the acting head of the Komsomolsky district administration Fidaris Khabibulin and the City Council deputy Rubin Badikov.
Student of the School of Arts Khasan Mardanshin performed songs of the war years on the bayan. The meeting with the young generation and the warm, emotional atmosphere brought immense pleasure to the veterans, who are in such need of attention, joy, and positive emotions.
Marianna Selivanova remembers that despite the hardships, the residents of Leningrad always supported each other. She remembers how a stranger gave her her last woolen shawl when she was being sent for evacuation across the "Road of Life".
Zhaneta Kublickaya was only four years old when the city was surrounded. The memories of the siege survivors are similar: everyone remembers the sound of the warning siren, shelling and bomb shelters, the loss of loved ones, and the daily bread ration - 125 grams.
About a million people died in the city during the blockade. This day will be forever preserved in memory and will serve as an example of resilience for descendants.
