In order to increase the role of the voluntary law enforcement movement, the "Best Folk Squad" and "Best Folk Squad Member" contest is held annually. Since the creation of the volunteer law enforcement movement, the DND, in close cooperation with the officers of the internal affairs bodies of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, has taken its rightful place in the system of prevention of offenses and crimes. Naberezhnye Chelny DNDs have repeatedly been recognized as the best and have become an example for the creation of similar institutions in many districts of the republic.
144 folk squads with a total of 1,366 people are included in the regional register of the territorial Department of Internal Affairs.
Members of the DND carry out daily duty to protect public order, participate in joint raids with law enforcement agencies, and take part in ensuring public order at city events.
"I want to express my confidence that we will continue to find full support from the majority of heads of organizations, and we will work with everyone, since order and tranquility in our city must be maintained through joint efforts, including with the involvement of volunteers", said the head of the mobilization department of the Executive Committee Rauf Mingaleev.
Patrolling is carried out in residential areas, while squad members assist in the detention of persons who have committed administrative offenses, assist in solving criminal crimes, and also take part in raids organized by the Internal Affairs Directorate to search for dangerous criminals.
On average, 112 squad members monitor the city's safety daily, and on average 448 go on patrol per month.
DNDs also assist the police in identifying and solving crimes and offenses. According to the results of 2022, 19 crimes were solved with the participation of voluntary folk squads and assistance was provided in identifying 570 administrative offenses.
