Avtozavodsky district is located in the Northeastern part of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, was formed on 01.01.2006 by combining the territories of Avtozavodskaya and Borovetskaya prefectures, created in order to resolve issues of local importance and exercise certain state powers delegated to local governments.
Covers an area of 4,899 hectares, with a population of 189,000 people.
